You know that a helicopter can only have one
main engine but you have 3 suppliers to choose from (A, B and C). We ensure only one
is chosen for any solution by making them mutually
exclusive. A has it's own Engine Management System, but B and C need an EMS. This dependency is shown by a green arrow.
There is only one choice for Gearbox but
when coupled to engine C (by the same manufacturer) it performs better and the
installation cost is less. These are shown by a modifier on the Gearbox when chosen with C.
